{"id":17862,"date":"2019-09-05T17:13:29","date_gmt":"2019-09-05T15:13:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.univ-larochelle.fr\/?page_id=17862"},"modified":"2025-05-13T09:24:46","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T07:24:46","slug":"research-and-innovation-doctoral-school-presentation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.univ-larochelle.fr\/en\/research-and-innovation\/phd\/phd-informations\/research-and-innovation-doctoral-school-presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation of the Doctoral School"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Presentation of the doctoral school<\/h2>\n<p>The doctoral school covers all the scientific disciplines of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-larochelle.fr\/en\/research-and-innovation\/our-structures\/research-units\/\">research units<\/a> of La Rochelle Universit\u00e9 which are attached to it :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cebc.cnrs.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chize Centre for Biological Studies<\/a> (CEBC, UMR CNRS)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crhia.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Research Centre for Atlantic and International History<\/a> (CRHIA)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/d2ia.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asian Dynamics, Interactions and Intercultuurality<\/a> (D2IA)<\/li>\n<li>Environment Organization LEgislation (EOLE)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/l3i.univ-larochelle.fr\/\">Laboratory of Informatics Image Interaction<\/a> (L3I)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lasie.univ-larochelle.fr\/\">Laboratory of Engineering Sciences for the Environment<\/a> (LaSIE, UMR CNRS)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lienss.univ-larochelle.fr\/\">Littoral, Environment and Society<\/a> (LIENSs, UMR CNRS)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mia.univ-larochelle.fr\/\">Mathematics Image and Application<\/a> (MIA)<\/li>\n<li>Digital Uses for Sustainable Development (NUDD)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.observatoire-pelagis.cnrs.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PELAGIS Observatory<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Politics, Literature, Culture, Writing, Mediality, Ideas, Expressions, Science (PoLiCEMIES)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, there is the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwz.ifremer.fr\/sg2m\/Laboratoire-de-Genetique-et-Pathologie-des-Mollusques-Marins\/Presentation-du-laboratoire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laboratory of Genetics and Pathology of Marine Mollusks<\/a> of the unit Health, Genetics and Microbiology of Mollusks (SG2M) of the Department Biological Resources and Environment (RBE) &#8211; IFREMER, La Tremblade.<\/p>\n<p>The Doctoral School thus gathers a potential of supervision of theses of approximately <strong>260<\/strong> teachers-researchers.<\/p>\n<h2>The missions of the doctoral school<\/h2>\n<p>The main mission of the ED is to accompany the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-larochelle.fr\/en\/research-and-innovation\/phd\/phd-informations\/research-and-innovation-doctoral-school-what-is-a-phd-student\/\">doctoral student<\/a> from the recruitment process to the defense of the doctorate, and then to follow up on the student&#8217;s future in terms of job opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>During the preparation of the thesis, the support takes the form of a certain number of activities, follow-up and training offers that can be summarized as follows :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a formal welcome during the doctoral students&#8217; first day of classes,<\/li>\n<li>the setting up of transversal training and specific training. The study regulations detail the type and number of 15-hour modules to be validated before the defense. The ED also validates other training courses taken outside the university after studying the request.
