The CAUE 17 Endowment Fund has committed to donating €160,000 to La Rochelle University, which will fund one doctoral student for three years, as well as interns to help develop this university chair linked to the Charente-Maritime region. Research serving the region Coastal areas face many challenges: rising sea levels, land pressure, new forms of mobility, and changes in the living environment. The “Coastal Development” chair offers an interdisciplinary approach (geography, law, political science) to analyze these transformations and help public and private actors adapt their development strategies. This research is being conducted by Anna Guillem, a doctoral student at the LIENSs laboratory, under the supervision of Didier Vye, a lecturer and researcher at La Rochelle University. Objectives of the chair To study residential dynamics and their impact on land use planning. To understand the modes of governance that frame coastal development. To provide useful data and analysis to local authorities, institutions, and professionals.
