What is the DUEF ?

This degree is unique to each university and provides additional skills in French as a foreign language. It is a good way to perfect your skills for professional purposes.

The course is intended for international students from non-French-speaking countries over the age of 18 who have at least the equivalent of a baccalauréat (secondary school diploma) from their own country, as well as, in some cases, a “student” visa.

DUEF (Diplôme Universitaire d’Etudes Françaises)

La Rochelle Université offers non-French speakers a University Diploma focused on learning French as well as acquiring knowledge about France, its history, culture etc.

To take this course, you must:

  • be a student or professional from a non-French speaking country over the age of 18
  • Have obtained theequivalentof the French baccalaureate in your country (secondary school leaving certificate.
  • A long-stay visa and residence permit: VLS-TS with the mention ‘student’. This visa is valid from 4 months up to 1 year.
  • For longer studies, you must have a temporary student residence permit valid for one year or a multi-year student residence card.

4 different levels are available, from A2 to C1. The A1 and C2 levels are not available.
